For the first round of mixes of her latest single 'Justify My Love', singer/songwriter and spoken word artist Ingrid Chavez enlists multi-talented producer, musician, DJ and Fine Coincidence label co-owner Tomasz Guiddo and emotive deep house mastermind Charles Webster to reinvent her version of the groundbreaking 1990 number 1 hit she co-wrote with Lenny Kravitz and Andre Betts.
Tapping into the lusty undercurrents of Ingrid's sweltry original, Tomasz Guiddo kicks off the proceedings with a simmering sparsely layered mix fueled with percolating bass, crisp percussion, sleek glassy rhythms, lush atmospherics, wistful melodies, glittering counter melodies, velvety breathy vocals and a broody narcotic groove.
Charles Webster maintains the moody meditative vibes with his pair of intoxicating re-rubs: the heady '2021 Mix' (a languorous slow-burner awash in spacey sonics, gauzy textures, throbbing electronic pulses, delicate melodies and Ingrid's intoxicating spoken word) and steamy 'Midnight Mix' (a dusky deep house odyssey with dreamy textures, husky tribal rhythms, heaving atmospherics, haunting vocals, ghostly melodies and a brisk percussive groove).
Released July 9th via Chavez's own Ten Windows Records label imprint, 'Justify My Love (Remixes) Part One' is the first of several remixed offerings to come from the inimitable song stylist who's worked with an impressive array of artists including Prince, David Sylvian, Ryuichi Sakamoto, David Hurn, Ganga, Vanessa Daou, Mashti, Deep Dive Corp. and Hush Forever.
